"Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man."

Welcome to
Iowans for Medical Marijuana

Every review conducted by the federal statute that makes marijuana illegal has recommended legalization.
The first review, conducted by a commission authorized by the statute and published in 1972, found that, "No conclusive evidence exists of any physical damage, disturbances of bodily processes or proven human fatalities attributable solely to even very high doses of marihuana."
The last review, conducted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and published in 1988, found that, "Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man."
The Iowa Legislature passed a law recognizing marijuana as a medicine in 1979 and that law is now found in Iowa Code Chapter 124.206(7)(a)(2006).
Why is the Supreme Court of Iowa telling medical marijuana users they cannot present evidence of medical use to a jury?
Why is the Federal Government prosecuting medical marijuana users in states that have passed medical marijuana legislation?
